Lessons from the Art will be hosting a “Beer & Bon Bons” fundraising event and open house on Sunday, May 19th, 4pm-6pm. Cost is $20. Event proceeds will be used to establish scholarships for students who may not be able to otherwise participate due to financial difficulties.
Most people wouldn’t pair beer and chocolate, but it is a new trend sweeping the United States. Chocolate lovers and craft beer connoisseurs alike will enjoy the surprising flavor combinations. The malty sweetness and rich flavors of craft beer enhance, and are enriched by, the flavors of rich chocolate. The carbonation of the beer also cleanses the pallet from the heavy finish of the chocolate; after the sip the pallet is ready for another taste.
The event is sponsored by the Waupaca Community Arts Board. Live music will be provided throughout the event, featuring John Turba on piano, Tammie Jo Berg on harp and jam session with Special Guests.
The Badgers Den Brewers Club of Waupaca will be present and may actually be brewing at the event.
Everyone will be given a grid of various beers and chocolate to sip and taste and compare.
