Fall Registrations Underway
Registrations are now underway for the fall semester. Lesson times are filling up quickly so contact Tammie Jo with your requests.
Instrument lessons are provided in:
Guitar – (first grade and up) Mark Hartmann teachers teach rock, blues, metal, country and classical guitar lessons on electric, bass and acoustic guitars.
Piano – (4 years and up) Our piano teachers (Inne Choi, Amy Ording, John Turba) teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Our piano teachers have warm personalities and enjoy sharing their love for the piano with you.
Violin – (4 years and up) Rebekah Wierzchowski is a certified Suzuki teacher. This remarkable method allows children as young as 4 to begin learning the violin in a supportive and nurturing educational environment.
Voice – Our voice teachers teach a variety of styles of music. John Keyes, a world renowned opera singer, teaches students in 9th grade and up, while John Turba works with students 8 years and up.
Dance – (3 years and up) Lindsey Hass has been dancing for more than 28 years. She teaches tap, pre-ballet, ballet, jazz, hip hop and modern.
A recital takes place at the end of each semester to share what we have learned and prove a low pressure performance opportunity.
Kindermusik – (6 months-3 years) Kindermusik is the most trusted music and movement program for infants-preschoolers. Casey Danielson will teach a 5 week “Sign and Sing” class, plus a one week free demo, beginning Oct. 10th at 9am.
A new offering this year is “Picasso Parties”. These are artistic birthday parties. Choose from a variety of artistic activities that will spark creativity and keep guests talking for weeks.
A variety of art classes are offered each month in a multitude of mediums including watercolor, drawing, copper tooling, jewelry, knitting, carving, basket weaving and more . Mark your calendars for “Jazzy Jack Family Night” where you will experiment with acrylic paints on canvas, creating a jazzy jack-o-lantern. $8/person or $13 per family!

Lessons from the Art – Music/Art/Dance Academy
Welcome to Lessons from the Art! We offer private music lessons in a variety of instruments/voice/dance for all ages (including infant music/movement classes), as well as classes in a multitude of art mediums, and showcase art on consignment. The vision of Lessons from the Art is to encourage involvement in the arts by providing quality opportunities to create, interact, experience and learn, resulting in lifetime enjoyment. If all goes well we will open our doors on Main Street, Iola in October.
Private Instrument Lessons
Private lessons are available for students of all ages. Weekly lessons last 30 minutes. Instruments choices include: piano, guitar, violin, harp and drum. Other instruments may be available upon request.
Lessons are offered a semester at a time. Fees are $70/month. Monthly direct bank withdrawal is available. There is an annual registration fee of $10 per student, not to exceed $20 per family.
Voice Lessons
Voice lessons are offered to high school age and older by a world renowned opera tenor, John Keyes.
John Turba is also offers voice lessons. He is the Iola-Scandinavia Choral Director
Infant Music and Rhythm Classes
A certified music teacher will provide infant music and rhythm classes based on the “kindermusik” curriculum. Parent and child will participate in singing, chanting, moving, dancing, listening and playing simple instruments.
Dance
Wednesday and Thursday will be dance days at the studio, starting at 4:30pm. Classes are 30 minutes long for ages 3-8 years and 45 minutes long for ages 9+. The dance studio is on the 2nd floor.
Dance lessons are offered a semester at a time. Fees are $30/month for 30 minute lessons and $42/month for 45 minute lessons. Monthly direct bank withdrawal is available. There is an annual registration fee of $10 per student, not to exceed $20 per family.
Art Classes
A variety of art classes are offered throughout the year in a multitude of mediums. Some are one-time classes while others are offered over several weeks.
